Casa Myrna Vazquez provides the following services:
-Legal Advocacy
-Counseling Services: provides individual, family and group counseling to victims of domestic violence, as well as referrals to outside therapeutic resources. Contact counseling@casamyrna.org
-Housing Advocacy: bilingual Spanish-English Housing Specialist works with program participants who have been made homeless by domestic violence, or who are at risk of ongoing injury in their current living situations due to domestic violence. Contact housing@casamyrna.org
-SOAR (Stability, Opportunity, Achievement, Results): economic development program helps program participants set and pursue educational, vocational and employment goals, and teaches them to budget, save and plan for their financial self-sufficiency. Contact soar@casamyrna.org
-Community Advocacy: bilingual Spanish/English Community Advocacy Specialist works two days a week on site at Dorchester District Court providing advocacy to victims of domestic violence coming in for initial restraining order hearings and 10-day continuation hearings.
-Mary Lawson Foreman Emergency Program: provides safety and shelter for 10 women and up to 13 children who have been made homeless by domestic violence.
-Transitional Living Program: provides longer-term housing for 6 women and up to 9 children. Most have already been through one (or more) emergency shelter placements, and are now working to secure permanent housing, improve their professional skills and solidify the gains they have made that will sustain futures free of violence and abuse.
-Adolescent Transitional Living Program: residential program for pregnant and parenting teen girls who have been victims of abuse.
-Family Services: works to address the complex needs of children who have witnessed the abuse of their mothers, helping them heal and recover from the trauma they have experienced.
-Education and prevention services
