Program/Service Notes:
The Boston Area Rape Crisis Center offers free multilingual services in Spanish, French and Haitian Creole for both men and women. Counseling: -individual-12 week therapy offered with no insurance required. -group-all groups are free and confidential. They start and various times and when there are enough members. Groups include survivors, significant others, partners, African American women and others. Call for support group information. -family/couples-12 week counseling for both couples and/or families. Medical Advocacy: -Volunteer medical advocates provide 24-hour accompaniments to area hospitals for post rape exams. The service is open to both men and women. Legal Advocacy: -legal advocates help address a range of civil legal problems related to sexual assault, including privacy issues, housing and employment issues, University and high school issues. Public Education: -Public educators provide schools, universities, health plans, etc with training and public education regarding sexual assault.
