Program/Service Notes:
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: Website: www.try.org Today Reunites Yesterday (TRY) is a nonprofit resource/referral center and library available to adoptees, adoptive parents, birth parents, professionals, and all those who are interested or involved in adoption issues. SERVICES: -TRY's Reunion Registry: has been in operation since 1987. We've been able to make over 1,000 matches free of charge based on the information people like yourself have provided. This computerized registry is not open to public view and is not displayed on the Web. We believe that this protects members of the adoption triad and work vigerously to maintain the confidentiality of information provided to us. When a match is made, both parties are called and informed about the other searching triad member. Then, each person is able to make decisions regarding contacting each other. -Short-term counseling: TRY provides short-term counseling (up to six sessions, either in our offices or overthe telephone). Any adoption related concerns or issues may be discussed. These sessions are free to all current TRY members. -Search consultations: You may call the office or make an appointment to drop-in to discuss your search related issues. TRY provides free search information packets when you fill out our reunion registration form.
