The mission of the South Hadley Family Center is to provide a safe, nurturing, fun and welcoming learning environment for children under 6 and their caregivers. We fulfill this mission through weekly playgroups as well as by sponsoring speakers, discussion groups, social events and facilitating sharing of resources.
-The South Hadley Family Center offers drop-in playgroups 4 mornings a week for parents, caregivers and children under 6. For children, the playgroups offer the opportunity to learn and master social skills during free play with peers and caregivers, and to participate in craft activities, snack andcircle time.. For parents and caregivers, Family Center playgroups provide an educational and fun environment for the children in their care as well as a source of information, resources and mutual support. Parents and caregivers value their contact with other adults who understand what it’s like to spend many hours each week with young children.
-The South Hadley Family Center is a parent-directed, volunteer organization. With the ideas and enthusiasm of parents and caregivers, the Family Center is able to provide a wide range of fun, educational activities and services for our community. We need your help! There are many ways in which you can contribute to the Family Center: Project work: helping to plan events, organize activities,or do publicity and outreach Donating skills, time, supplies or equipment Serving on the Parent Advisory Board
