By providing and coordinating a range of services and assistance, Early Education and Care works to improve the quality, affordability and accessibility of early education and care in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
-EEC provides a range of services including: Technical Assistance Papers,Licensing Forms,Child Care Financial Assistance Policies & Forms,Regulations & Policies,Grant Forms,Reports and Research,Resource and Referral Agencies, and Regional Lists of Providers that allow you to enter a city or town to find all licensed child and early care providers.
EEC also has several programs:
-The Department of Early Education and Care administers the Massachusetts Family Network and Parent-Child Home Program as part of the family programs.
-The Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) in its capacity as a licensing agency, licenses all child care programs in Massachusetts. EEC enforces strong licensing standards for the health, safety and education of all children in child care.
-Under an agreement with the Executive Office of Health and Human Services, EEC licenses adoption, foster care placement and residential care agencies.
-The Department of Early Education and Care provides financial assistance to some families in purchasing child care.
-The Department of Early Education and Care is administering a myriad of grants to improve early education and care and meet the special needs of young children.
-Early Education and Care issues certificates to qualified professionals who work in center-based early education and care programs.
