DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES:
The FamilyNet Support Project's goal is accessing internet resources to enhance the lives of individuals wiht disabilities and families of diverse, cultural, lingusitic, and ethnic communities.
The goals of the project are:
-Teach basic computer skills in Microsoft Word, Internet and Email use abd offer technical assistance to individuals with disabilities and families of diverse cultural communities abd community based minority organizations staff in a supportive, accessible environment.
-Point people to Family Support sites so that resource information is easy to find and use.
-Maintain a "user Friendly" website and newsletter developed from the input of individuals with disabilities and families of diverse cultural communities and community based minority organization staff.
-Create and distribute a database of accessinle community computer centers so that acquired skills can be used and strengthened in local settings by the computer students.
Provide a working model to ensure that individuals with disabilities and families of diverse cultural communities and community based minority organizations staff continue building on technical skills and incorporate Internet access into their larger communities to improve the quality of t heir lives.
