Program/Service Notes:
The YWCA Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Unit (DVSA) is a comprehensive program designed to meet the needs of women and children whose lives are affected by interpersonal violence. The Unit is a team of professionals, working collaboratively with other community agencies to provide an array of services: -Rape Crisis Services: The DVSA Unit offers a 24-hour emergency hotline for women and teens who have been raped or sexually assaulted. They also offer support groups, individual counseling, referrals, outreach and educational services. -Domestic Violence Services: The DVSA Unit provides counseling for families with children younger than 11 years of age, whose lives have been affected by domestic violence. Transportation is available. -Sexual Abuse Counseling for Children: The DVSA Unit offers counseling to children who have been sexually abused, as well as their families. Both individual and group sessions are offered. -Women's Outreach: Outreach services are available to women whose lives have been disrupted by domestic violence. We offer family assessments, brief counseling, crisis intervention, safety planning, court/legal advocacy, community education and referrals for support services.
