Program/Service Notes:
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: Website: www.hcfama.org Free Helpline: Health Care For All's helpline is an independent consumer resource that is free, and available to anyone, regardless of citizenship status. If you have questions about getting health care, call Health Care For All's free Helpline at the above number. The purpose of the Helpline is to provide information and assistance to people who have questions, complaints or problems with the health care system. The health care system can be very complex and unfriendly. The Helpline answers your questions about the health care system, provides information, and can refer you to appropriate health care resources. The Helpline does several things: -We tell people about their rights regarding health care and health insurance. -Give people information and refer them to appropriate health care programs that can help them. -Tell people about other sources of health-related information in their community. -Give people suggestions and advise them on how to advocate for themselves and their families to help them resolve problems on their own. The Helpline works through a "call back" system. When you call the Helpline, you will hear a tape-recorded message. You will be asked to leave your name and telephone number and a brief description of the information you need or the problem you need help with. We keep all of your information strictly confidential. A Helpline counselor returns your call as soon as possible. If you are not at home, the Helpline counselor will leave a message or will try to call you again.
