DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: The Young Parent Services of the YWCA offer: -outreach, advocacy and referral -short-term management -young parent peer support groups -parenting and life skills education -individual counseling -Young Parent's Support Group/Individual Counseling: A trained clincian leads a young mother's support group to provide a place for young mothers to share each other's experience and difficulties. The group environment helps to reduce isolation and give support with others who have common experiences as parents. Individual counseling provides support for young mothers who prefer a one on one experience. -Mentor Program: Informal, individual counseling, outreach, support, and advocacy for young women and parents trained/supervised volunteer mentors. -School and Community Based Services: The YWCA offers a variety of services for youth and young adults in school and community locations responding to local needs and issues: case management and referrals, resource and referrla information, school based groups, prevention education. -Day Care for Teen Parents: If you need day care so you can stay in school, get job training or stay employed. Call the YWCA and ask for Services to Teen Parents and Their Children (STPC)
