DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES:
The Women Veterans Health Program specifically addresses the health care needs of eligible women veterans, providing appropriate, timely and compassionate health care at the facility level.
-Patient Education: breast self-exam, cardiac fitness, nutrition and weight loss, family planning, menopause management.
-Mental Health: sexual trauma counseling, substance abuse treatment, evaluation and treatment for Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome, women veterans stress disorder treatment, programs for homeless women veterans, programs for victims of domestic violence, vocational rehabilitation programs.
-Medical Services: primary care, preventive health screening including breast and cervical cancer screens, gender-specific care, reproductive health care including maternity care and infertility evaluation, osteoporosis evaluation and treatment
-Provider Education-women's health fellowship programs, resident training, allied health academic training, video/satellite training, clinical updates in contemporary women's health issues, mini-residencies, sensitivity training, customer service
-Research: aging, breast and other cancers, chronic diseases, reproductive health, mental health, mental health, substance abuse, women's health services systems
