Program/Service Notes:
The Brazilian Immigrant Center is a community-based organization working to empower Brazilians in the Greater Boston Area around issues of access to education, workplace rights and immigration. Our work is done through advocacy, education, organizing and leadership/capacity building. Currently the BIC is offering five 8-week cycles of ESL classes (4 classes each cycle) annually in two different levels. The purpose of such educational mission is to build self-sufficiency and leadership within the community. The BIC is also responsible for two other initiatives, one on immigrant amnesty and the other on problems related to the availability of driver's license for recently arrived immigrants.
