Program/Service Notes:
The Shelter: -food and shelter -individual and group support -legal and housing advocacy safety planning Children's Services: Children participate in regularly scheduled activities which encourage healing, self-esteem and cooperation. This program is coordinated by a licensed social worker. Education and Employment Readiness: EERP offers classes which enable battered women living at Transition House and community members to become economically independent and self-sufficient. Vocational counselor offers computer training, resume writing skills, time management workshops and counseling for women. Community Services: The Dating Violence Intervention Project (DVIP) The Respect line-statewide hotline for teens, run by teens, trained about dating violence and more. The Speakers Bureau-volunteers and staff of the Transition House visit a variety of community groups, including businesses, social services, religious groups, schools, law enforcement and more, to provide workshops and presentations about domestic violence. Haitian Outreach Program-a community outreach, education and survivor services program for the greater Boston Haitian community. Volunteer Training-30 hour training sessions are held 3 times a year to prepare volunteers to work in the shelter and on the hotline.
