Program/Service Notes:
-The Hampshire County Family Network is a group of approximately 30 human services agencies, health providers, family centers, and early care and education providers working together to provide services and support to Hampshire County families with infants toddlers and preschool-aged children. -A primary focus of HCFN is supporting the 8 family centers in Hampshire county and facilitating networking relationships between them. These family centers are Amherst Family Center, Belchertown Family Center, Cummington Family Center, Easthampton Family Center, Gateway Family Center, Northampton Family Center, South Hadley Family Center and Ware Family Center. They provide a variety of services for families with young children, including drop-in parent-child playgroups, parent education workshops, parent support programs, music and art programs, literacy programs and family fun events. -HCFN also provides advocacy and information and referral to community resources for families with young children. -In addition HCFN also provides small amounts of funding for parent education and support programs that serve targeted populations of families with young children that family centers are not currently serving. -HCFN services are primarily targeted to families with children birth through age three, but most family centers welcome families with children ages 0-5 regardless of income. Services are provided free of charge, although some centers rely on the ability of families with adequate resources to make voluntary donations to support their work. Most centers welcome family day care providers to attend with children in their care, but their participation may be restricted to certain days or times.
