About Our Program

The Counselor/Advocate Program at the Everywoman's Center provides free and confidential crisis services for survivors of all gender expressions in the Hampshire County and Five College Community. We support survivors of rape; sexual assault; childhood sexual abuse; stalking; domestic violence; emotional, psychological and verbal abuse. Additionally, we are available to support survivors’ friends, family members, and significant others.

Services for Survivors of Sexual Assault and Battering

All our services are free and confidential. Counselor/Advocates are available 24 hours, 7 days/week to provide support, information, crisis intervention, and medical and legal advocacy.

Walk-In Services
Our walk-in hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 am to 4 pm. Please feel free to come and speak with a Counselor/Advocate, to ask questions, to look through our therapist referral guide, or to read a book or article from our non-lending library.

Legal and Medical Advocacy
We provide legal and medical advocacy, including helping women to obtain restraining orders at the Northampton District Court.

Short-term Counseling
Counselor/Advocates can meet with survivors for 10-12 weeks on an individual basis.

Support Groups for Sexual Abuse and Rape Survivors
The Counselor/Advocate Program offers free support groups for survivors of incest, sexual assault, and rape.

Specialized Teen Services
The Specialized Teen Services Program provides advocacy, short-term counseling, support groups, and referrals for all teen (ages 12-18) survivors of sexual assault/abuse/harassment and dating/domestic violence. Services are also available to friends and family of survivors, social service providers, teachers, guidance counselors, police, hospital personnel, and others working with young people. The Teen Specialist and Teen Services Counselors are able to travel to schools or other agencies to accommodate different participants needs.
