Join us for a May Day event on the lower Cape as we rewind through our land's history all the way back to the Big Bang while hiking along the trails of the Wellfleet Wildlife Sanctuary. Learn about cultural and natural history, including Native American heritage, tales of colonial settlers, and what changes the future might bring.
Please arrive ten minutes before the program begins. Parking is at the entrance to the main building, which has a large hall where the group will gather. Be sure to wear comfortable, hard-soled shoes and dress for the weather. It is also encouraged to bring a full bottle of water and some sun block.
After the tour, we'll gather at Van Rensselaer's Restaurant & Raw Bar for a fabulous plated lunch. If you can't join us for the tour, think about joining us afterwards for lunch. Please choose from the following luncheon menu:
*Chicken Saute - Boneless chicken breast sauteed with mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, olive oil and marsala wine. Served with chilled orzo salad and roasted asparagus.
*Local Scrod - Baked with a light dusting of seasoned crumbs. Served with a chilled orzo salad and roasted asparagus.
*Mixed baby Greens Salad - Tomatoes, cucumbers, mushrooms, carrot, red onion, broccoli, avocado, garbanzo beans, black olives and dried cranberries. Choice of three dressings, served with a side of fresh fruit.
All entrees come with homemade bread pudding served with bourbon sauce, a house specialty. Coffee, tea, iced tea, iced coffee or soda. A cash bar will be available.
