The University Programming Council at UMass Amherst proudly presents Spring Concert 2014 featuring Wale, the Goo Goo Dolls, and Slightly Stoopid.

The concert will begin on April 13th at 6 p.m.; doors will be open at 5 p.m.

Tickets go on sale Monday, March 24th at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at the Mullins Center Box Office and Ticketmaster. Tickets for UMass Amherst undergraduate students are $10 with a student I.D. Ticktets for 5 College students are $25 with a student I.D. General admission tickets are $45.

Wale, a rap artist hailing from Washington D.C., signed to Maybach Music Group/Atlantic Records in 2011. He released his debut album in 2009, “Attention Deficit”, which saw his break out hit, “Chillin”, featuring pop star Lady Gaga. The Grammy Nominated rap artist has since released two albums, has contributed to two Maybach Music Group compilation albums, and is currently working on his fourth solo studio album, “The Album About Nothing”, slated for release this year. His most recent hits include, “LoveHate Thing”, “Lotus Flower Bomb”, “Bad”, and “Clappers”. He has collaborated with label mates Rick Ross, Meek Mill, and French Montana as well as Kid Cudi, J. Cole, and Rihanna.

The Goo Goo Dolls are a legendary rock band formed in Buffalo, New York in 1986. The band has released ten studio albums since their formation. One of which being the hugely popular and 3x platinum album, “A Boy Named Goo”, which spawned such hits as “Name”, “Broadway”, and their Grammy nominated hit, “Iris”. They later went on to have more success with 2002’s “Gutterflower”, with hits such as “Big Machine” and “Here is Gone”. They recently released their latest studio album, “Magnetic” in 2013 which debuted in the top 10 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. Current members include John Rzenznik and Robby Takac.

Slightly Stoopid is a band from Ocean Beach, California whose music is mixture of rock, reggae, hip-hop, and funk. They released their debut album “Slightly $toopid” in 1996. The bands has performed at many music and arts festivals including Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Austin City Limits.

Directions:

From the North: Route 91 South to Exit 25 - At the end of the ramp turn left and follow the road to the intersection - turn right onto Routes 5 & 10 South - go 1 mile, then left onto 116 South, then eight miles to UMass exit - Left at the end of the ramp onto Massachusetts Avenue. Take left at second set of lights and follow directions for parking.

From the South: Route 91 North to Exit 19 (Northampton/Amherst) - Right onto Route 9 and go approximately five miles. Take a left onto Route 116 North (across from Staples) and follow for one mile to UMass exit. Take a right off the ramp on to Massachusetts Avenue. Take left at second set of lights and follow directions for parking.

From the East: Mass Pike (Route 90) West to Exit 4 (West Springfield) onto Route 91 North to Exit 19 (Northampton/Amherst) - Right onto Route 9 and go approximately five miles. Take a left onto Route 116 North (across from Staples) and follow for one mile to UMass exit. Take a right off the ramp on to Massachusetts Avenue. Take left at second set of lights and follow directions for parking.

From the West: Mass Pike (Route 90) East to Exit 4 (West Springfield) onto Route 91 North to Exit 19 (Northampton/Amherst) - Right onto Route 9 and go approximately five miles. Take a left onto Route 116 North (across from Staples) and follow for one mile to UMass exit. Take a right off the ramp on to Massachusetts Avenue. Take left at second set of lights and follow directions for parking.
