Andrew Lippa’s The Wild Party is a story about love, lust and parties. Set in 1929 New York City, Queenie is a vaudeville dancer living with her abusive, alcoholic, vaudeville clown boyfriend, Burrs. Their relationship used to be good, but all things hot soon come to an end. She decides to throw a party to get the spark back between them. The night starts out wonderfully with colorful guests: two incestuous gay brothers, a hooker, a minor, a lesbian, a mute dancer with no tongue, a pugilist, and many others. But when Queenie’s arch rival and best friend, Kate, shows up with the handsome and mysterious Mr. Black, the party, and everyone’s lives, are turned upside-down.
