
The UMass Department of History would like to announce a public lecture by its 2013 Writer-in-Residence, historian Robin D.G. Kelley. Kelley is a renowned African American studies scholar and author of award-winning books on urban American culture, including Yo’ Mama’s Disfunktional: Fighting the Culture Wars in Urban America and Thelonious Monk: The Life and Times of An American Original. Robin Kelley joins us Tuesday March 5th at 4 PM in the UMass Student Union Cape Cod Lounge to deliver a talk titled “The Long Rise and Short Decline of American Democracy.”
