Massachusetts Appeals Court Session
October 10, 2017
UMass Amherst Campus
A three-member panel of the Massachusetts Appeals Court will hear six cases. Associate justices C. Jeffrey Kinder, William Meade and Ariane D. Vuono will preside at the session.
Appellate justices do not retry the cases or make factual determinations at oral argument and only review decisions for errors of law and whether the errors made affected the outcome of the case. The Appeals Court considers approximately 1,500 cases per year. Each case lasts approximately 30 minutes.
All cases are open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. All who enter the court will be searched. Bags are permitted but are subject to search.
