Performance: Moonfish Theatre's 'Star of the Sea'
October 3—October 4, 2017 7:30 pm
UMass Amherst Campus
In the winter of 1847, the famine ship Star of the Sea set sail for the promised land of America with passengers whose lives and fates were more connected than any of them knew. The cast of six combine video projections, choreographed movement, and inventive sound effects, to conjure up the worlds of those passengers. Adapted from Joseph O’Connor’s best-selling novel, this powerful production is performed in Irish and English.
Post-show talk with the members of the company after each performance.
Funded in part by the Expeditions program of the New England Foundation for the Arts, made possible with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional support from the six New England state arts agencies.
