About the Capital Wind Symphony: Founded in 1991, the Capital Wind Symphony is the premiere non-military professional wind symphony in the US. It attracts wind and percussion players from across the country, and soloists from throughout the world. Capital Winds is dedicated to celebrating and preserving the great American band tradition, with a repertoire from transcriptions, classic band works, and new compositions for wind ensemble and wind orchestra.
