The exhibition includes 50 works (both abstract and figurative) in a broad range of media from 50 artists, in which the color red - or some variant thereof - plays a dominant role in the creation of the finished image.

In this instance we have chosen the color 'Red' because of its rich historical, religious and cultural associations.   It calls up a broad spectrum of human impulses, moods, and intellectually conditioned forms of  response, and whatever is special and persists in the mind about our experience of it must basically be seen rather than said.

Herter Art Gallery is located at the north end of Herter Hall west of the Fine Arts Center. Public parking is available at all times behind the Robsham Visitors Center and at meters along Haigis Mall. Nights and weekends parking is also available in Lot #71, west of the Whitmore Administration Building.
