On April 11th through the 13th at 8:00 p.m., nine up-and-coming dance choreographers will show how dance can reveal universal emotions and characteristics. This outstanding production, consisting of dance works choreographed by UMass dance majors and performed by talented dancers throughout the five college program, is located in the Dance Studio Theater at Hampshire College.
The Emerging Choreographers Series features the choreographic works of Tomas Aponte, Kaitlyn Burdick, Sarah Elaz, Nick Galatis, Rachel Lovely, Julia Rahman, Tommy Seibold, Taylor Thistle, and Anna Wotring. Each choreographer is inspired by a wide range of topics, including exploring the relationship between movement and brain science. Every choreographer conveys universal ideas or motifs through their dancers’ movements, essentially creating a language spoken through the body. The Emerging Choreographers Series is a production that is truly invigorating and should not be missed as it explores the uncharted territory where mind and movement intersect.
