Declamation Day is a public-speaking tournament where undergraduates from across the campus read aloud works they have chosen from a wide range of published material. Selections from past competitions have included serious and humorous movie monologues, poems, speeches, lyrics, and works of fiction. With coaching from Mike Haley, actor, alumnus, and film producer, and Professor Joselyn Almeida-Beveridge, students have entertained and engaged the audience. The competition will be judged by a panel of judges that will select the three "best" performances at the same time as the audience votes for its favorite participant, all four of whom will receive a cash prize.

Join us for a fast-paced, compelling hour of performances and to see and hear the passion, joy, humor, and persuasiveness that students bring to their presentations.
