Jake Hoffman was a Stoughton resident set to graduate from UMass Amherst in May 2013 but tragically passed away in an off-campus apartment complex fire the day before classes at UMass that spring.

Deep in the Hole examines a wide range of experiences of imprisonment including political prisoners, conscientious objectors in WWII, the war on drugs and marijuana decriminalization, psychiatric confinement, and the role of controversial activism and publications.
