Ron Welburn has recently published poetry in multiple venues. In Winter 2020 (25.1), he published "Epistrophy,” “Kiss Me Right,” “Hello, Young Lovers,” and “The Ethos of Sonny Rollins" in Brilliant Corners: A Journal of Jazz & Literature. In December 2020, Welburn delivered a virtual Native Scholar Presentation titled "“Living the Survivance in the Algonquian Landscape,” for the Karuna Peacebuilding Center.

He also published "Moonlight Becomes Her  Fluorescence" in Qutub Minar Review: An International Literary Magazine (New Delhi) in October 2020 (vol 3., no 2).

In May of 2020, Welburn's poem "Always Know" was included in The Common (no. 19).
