Assistant Professor

TreaAndrea M. Russworm received her AB from Brown University (1998), AM from the University of Chicago (2002), and PhD from the University of Chicago (2008). Her current research project is on race, popular culture, and psychoanalytic thought during the civil rights era.

Her teaching interests, both primary and secondary, include post-1950s African American literature and culture, film and television studies, American studies, psychoanalysis, digital media (including video game theory and culture) and representations of race and community in the “avatar age.”
