Assistant Professor

Chris Bachelder is the author of the novels U.S.!, Bear v. Shark, and Lessons in Virtual Tour Photography (an e-book).  His stories and essays have appeared
in Harper's, The Believer, The Oxford American, New Stories from the South, and elsewhere.  He has an MFA in fiction writing from the University of Florida
(2002).

Bachelder teaches courses in fiction writing, the form and theory of fiction, and contemporary fiction.  Before joining the MFA faculty at UMass in the fall of 2006, he taught at Colorado College and New Mexico State University.
