Stephen J. Harris

Associate Professor

Educated at Loyola University Chicago, Ph.D., 1999; University of Ottawa, M.A., 1991; Bishop's University, B.A. (Honours), 1988. Specialization in Old English, early medieval literature, and historical linguistics.

He has recently published Race and Ethnicity in Anglo-Saxon Literature (Routledge, 2003), and is working on a book about the Psalms in Anglo-Saxon England. Other current projects include an edited collection of essays, Misconceptions about the Middle Ages; a textbook on English vocabulary; and a computerized parser of the historical phonology of Old Icelandic and Old English.
