Robinson receives teaching award

Jasmine Robinson, a doctoral student in the College of Education’s language, literacy and culture concentration, and grade 3 teacher at Crocker Farm School in Amherst, received the 2015 Roger L. Wallace Excellence in Teaching Award. This award recognizes elementary school teachers in Amherst and Pelham, Massachusetts,  who design community-centered curricula that is relevant and equitable to all children, and that fosters children’s local, regional, and/or national participation in society. The award acknowledges teachers’ commitments to lifelong learning and collaboration. The award, which honors Roger L. Wallace, an outstanding teacher who retired in 2012 after serving in the Amherst public schools for 39 years, with 38 of those years at the Fort River School, is given by the Wallace Award Committee.
