William J. Matthews, Ph.D. Professor.
Background: Dr. Matthews received his B.A. from the University of Massachusetts in 1974 and his Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut in 1980. Current activities: Dr. Matthews is currently involved in investigating prayer vs. positive visualization in kidney dialysis patients. He is also working on an empirical study concerning non-hypnotic and hypnotic suggestibility in children. Teaching interests: Psychological assessment and interventions, research methods and designs in psychology, and the history of psychology and philosophy of science. Research interests: Hypnosis-research and clinical application, and intervention outcome/clinical effectiveness. |
