Robert D. Colbert, Ph.D. (University of Wisconsin-Madison, 1987) Associate Professor in School Counseling Program.   Teaching interests: Processes involved in district level school change and methods for schoolcounselor’s role in education reform.  Research interests: Video-taping, codification, and quantitative analysis of parent and teacher interactions that occur during parent-teacher conferences.

Vernon Cronen, Ph.D. (University of Illinois, 1970). Professor in the School of Communication. Teaching Interests: Interpersonal communication with a special interest in intercultural family-organizational settings. Research Interests: Developing more culturally sensitive quality (interview) methods, studying the aesthetic dimensions of everyday life, and studying the moral order of interaction.

William Edward Cross, Jr., Ph.D. (Princeton, 1976). Professor and Chair of the SDPPS. Teaching Interests: Afro-American studies and racial/cultural identity development across the life span. Research Interests: History and evolution of the African-American family life. Also, the development of a new identity scale to provide measures for at least six different black identity archetypes, ranging from black individuals who give low salience to race in everyday life, to black individuals for which race and culture is essential to identify.
