Introduction
As specified by the Graduate School, to apply to the LLC Masters or Doctoral Program, you should have:
- undergraduate Grade Point Average of 2.75 or above* (*we consider students with a undergraduate GPA below 2.75 but they should specifically make a case in their personal statement showing evidence of their being able to handle rigorous academic work despite having a low GPA).
- submit transcripts
- a minimum of two letters of recommendation (*for masters candidate one of your recommendation letters should be from your teaching supervisor)
- a personal statement
- evidence of teaching experience in formal and/or informal settings is required--meaning you have planned your own lessons and lead your own classes.* (*for career changers (e.g. individuals with significant experience in a prior career path are required to submit a one page explanation of how your prior experiences will support you in your career in education)
- applicants are encouraged to send writing sample or other example of schloarly work

Fees & expenses
For Massachusetts resident graduate students, the Fees for the 2011-2012 Academic Year are $5,788.50 per semester; for nonresidents and international students, $10,950.50 per semester. These fees include a health insurance fee of $327.00 per semester. A health insurance fee of $1,388.00 may be waived if resident and nonresident graduate students provide verification that they have comparable health insurance coverage. All fees are subject to change.
Financial Aid & Deadlines
-The admissions committee nominates incoming students for the Diversity Teaching Assistantship Award, the International Student Tuition Award, and the Graduate School Fellowships. Please provide information in your statement that will enable us to write strong recommendations for these awards.

-International Student Tuition Award: If you would like to be considered for an International Tuition waiver your application must be recieved by Fall Priority Application Deadline January 15
-Only applications received by the Fall Priority Application Deadline January 15 are considered for scholarships, fellowships and assistantships however applications received by the Spring Final Application Deadline April 1 will be considered for admissions only. Please note LLC also accepts applications at the Masters and CAGS level October 15 to enroll in the spring. Applications for the LLC Doctoral Degree are accepted for fall semester only.
Examinations
See Please note that LLC does not require the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) Tests or the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT).
International students must pass the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). International applicants taking the paper-based TOEFL must score 550 or above; those taking the computer-based TOEFL must score 213 or above; those taking the TOEFL iBT (Internet-based test) must score 79-80 or above. A TOEFL score is valid for two years. The Graduate School accepts IELTS scores with a minimum of 6.5 in lieu of TOEFL scores.
