Advising Appointments: What to Expect from an Appointment
When you schedule an appointment in the Educator Information Office, you can
expect the following to occur:
- Upon arrival, you will be asked to complete a Pre-licensure/Minor in Education
advising record. The form includes your contact information, reason for appointment,
and future career interests and goals. The form will allow the Educator Information
Office staff to guide the appointment specifically towards you and your interests,
and will be kept on file for future reference.
- An advisor will greet you and bring you into the advising area, where you
will have a one-on-one appointment. All appointments are 30-minutes long.
- The advisor will share information and provide handouts based on your area
of interest in education. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions.
- At the end of your appointment, the advisor will record information on
the advising record based on the discussion between you and the advisor.
The advisor will make a copy of the form for you to take with you.
- If you are scheduled for a phone appointment, the advisor will ask you
for the information on the advising record and will follow all of the steps
listed above. You can receive a copy of the form by stopping
by the office or by asking us to mail a copy to you.
