It is extremely important that we
all take an active role in the fight to save bilingual education
programs in Massachusetts' schools. Effective bilingual education
programs benefit every person in every community and their removal
would have negative consequences for all of us. Please join us in
the fight save childrens' rights to a quality education!

- Register to vote! Voting in the
November 2002 election is very important. If you agree that bilingual
education is important, but you don't vote, we will lose this
valuable educational tool. Also, as a registered voter, your legislators
will consider your opinion.
*To register to vote: Go to your city/town clerk for assistance
or contact Latinos and Allies for a Fair Economy.
- Educate yourself about
bilingual education and why it is important. With this information,
you will be able to educate others in your community.
- TALK and raise awareness! Discuss bilingual
education and what is happening with your friends, family and
community members. The more you talk, the more people will know
what is going on.
- Write letters to the editors of
your local newspapers, your school board, city councilors, and
legislative representatives. Let them know that you are a registered
voter and that you feel strongly about saving bilingual education
(see sample on this web site).
