Youth Participatory Action Research: Exploring Issues of Literacy Development and Afro-Latinx Identities from a Critical Perspective

Presenters include:

  • Ruth Harman, Associate Professor, University of Georgia,  and a former LLC student with expertise in critical discourse analysis and multicultural/multilingual education.
  • Jason Mizell, doctoral student, University of Georgia, with expertise in youth participatory action research (YPAR) and Afro-Latinx identities
  • Edgar Escutia Chagoya, bilingual high school student from Mexico, who is a participant in an ongoing YPAR project in Athens, Georgia.
