Professional Interests

Matt Militello is an assistant professor of Educational Administration. A middle and high school teacher and principal for eleven years in Michigan (Holland Public Schools, West Ottawa Public Schools, and Mason Public Schools), he received his BA in secondary education from the University of Michigan (1992) and his MA (1997) and PhD (2004) from Michigan State University in educational leadership.

His research interests include administrative preparation programs (pre-service and in-service), distributed instructional leadership practices, and how educational leaders utilize school data to inform leadership and pedagogical practice.

Militello is currently the program coordinator of Educational Administration in the School of Education’s Department of Educational Policy, Research, and Administration.
