Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL)
      - Consists of two parts
            * Communication and Literacy Skills [Everyone]
            * Subject Part [Your subject only]

Bachelor's Degree
      - Preferred to be in something generally taught in secondary
        education (e.g. Math, English, etc.)
      - Unfortunately, our program isn't really suited for Art/Music majors or anyone with
        a major in a subject that isn't generally taught in secondary education
        (e.g. Dance, Pre-Med, Nursing, etc.)

Recommended Courses
      - Although there are no required courses, we do recommend
        a few (or their equivalents at other institutions) that give a good background
            * Education 210 - Social Diversity in Education
                  Focus on issues of social identity, social and cultural diversity, and societal
                  manifestations of oppression. Draws on interdisciplinary perspectives of social
                  identity development, social learning theory, and sociological analysis of power
                  and privilege within broad social contexts.
            * Education 497I - TEAMS
                  Description coming soon!
            * Education 524 - Work of Middle/High School Teachers
                  Field-based: the work of middle and high school teachers in social and
                  organizational context. Required for certification for English,
                  Math, Science and Social Studies teachers.

GRE's NOT required!
