Job Description: The Economics Department at the University of Massachusetts Amherst invites applications for a tenure-system appointment at the level of Assistant Professor. Fields are open. We particularly encourage candidates specializing in the Political Economy of Latin American Development to apply. Applicants may be considered for more than one position in the Department. Under exceptional circumstances, candidates at other ranks may receive consideration. Economics faculty members at UMass Amherst work in diverse areas, including the political economy of class, gender, race, environment, and economic development, as well as microeconomics and macroeconomics, from both heterodox and mainstream approaches. 

Requirements:

A completed Ph.D. in Economics or a related field or comparable training and experience is required. Candidates will be judged on their scholarly research as well as teaching. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
