Pita Pit. Founded in 1995 by John Sotiriadis and Nelson Lang, the Pita Pit was first opened in Kingston, Ontario as a fast food restaurant with a new and unique approach. The goal was to offer quality, healthy, fresh food - fast! With a friendly informal atmosphere and a varied and tasty menu selection the idea caught on elsewhere. Here at UMass, we opened our first Pita Pit in Worcester DC and it has become so popular that we quickly opened a second one at Campus Center. Every pita sandwich is made to order and you will like it with the first bite.
For the breakfast lover and luncheon crowd, The Marketplace Café continues to serve a full-grill selection of breakfast items including omelets, bagel sandwiches and English muffins, as well as burgers, fries, onion rings and chicken sandwiches.
