Lena Fletcher

Lena Fletcher is a Ph.D. student at UMass Amherst in the Department of Environmental Conservation (ECO). She earned a B.A. in Geology from Smith College (1999) and a M.S. in Forest Resources from UMass Amherst (2009). She is currently an instructor in the ECO department and the iCons program at UMass. Her research involves investigating methods of monitoring and managing exotic invasive plant species. Her work with the National Center for Digital Government involves working with a team of excellent colleagues to develop and evaluate the use of a smart phone application, Outsmart Invasive Species, as a tool to train citizens to identify and report destructive invasive species.
