Application Procedures
The UMass Dietetic Internship Program is using the on-line centralized internship application, DICAS. E-mail DICASinfo@DICAS.org . DICAS will be available after December 1, 2011 for the Spring 2012 Match. The on-line application must be completed for our program by 11:59 p.m. Central Time on February 14, 2012.

- D&D Digital Computer Matching Fee:Applicants must register on-line for computer matching and select dietetic internship priority choices by 11:59 p.m. Central Time on February 14. There is a $50 computer matching fee.

- Letter of application: Follow the guidelines from DICAS and tell us why you want to become a Registered Dietitian; why you want to attend the Dietetic Internship at the University of Massachusetts Amherst (rather than other supervised practice programs); about a situation in which you needed to work independently, and comment on the skills you used for successful completion of that independent work.
- Official verification of completion of Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics-approved or -accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD), or a declaration of intent to complete degree and ADA academic requirements, requested from your DPD Program Director. There is a separate DPD portal at DICASinfo@DICAS.org for their use.
- Three letters of reference from appropriate professionals (2 faculty, 1 employer/supervisor, either paid or volunteer). Students must include the name and contact information (specifically an e-mail address) for each reference. This will trigger an e-mail message requesting the completed reference form, to be completed on-line.
Keep a copy of your application for your own records, as application materials submitted to this program will not be returned to applicants.
