Film Tour Information

The film and video titles featured in this touring series, “Berlin, Divided Heaven” all have English subtitles and are intended for non-commercial screenings.  The 16mm and 35mm films that are available from the DEFA Film Library are marked as DEFA titles.  Please contact the appropriate distributor for access to the other titles.  The program was put together in 1999 and ran its primary circuit in 2000.

These “Berlin tour films” have also been framed within other contexts that intersect with a wide range of interests, adaptable to fit the needs of varying screening programs and classroom topics.

To meet individualized objectives, one may select one, a few, or all the films from the series.  This catalog discusses the selected titles within particular contexts while linking them to other films suggested for further viewing, as well a selective English-language bibliography.
