Brian Baldi

Brian Baldi is the Assistant Director for the Center for Teaching & Faculty Development. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from the University of California Berkeley, a Master’s of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and a Master's in Library Science from Simmons College.

In his various roles for the Center for Teaching & Faculty Development, Brian coordinates a seminar series for new department chairs, heads and directors; manages a continuum of scholarly writing programs for faculty; conducts midterm assessments for faculty; consults with instructors on pedagogy, course design, and teaching portfolios; assists with faculty focus groups; and serves as a co-PI on the Mellon Mutual Mentoring Initiative, funded by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. In addition, Brian has taught English at both UMass Amherst and Marlboro College in Vermont.

Brian’s fiction, nonfiction and poetry have been published in the AWP Writer’s Chronicle, The Massachusetts Review, ZYZZYVA and Denver Quarterly. More recently, he has published a chapter on faculty scholarly writing programming in Working With Faculty Writers, by Utah State University Press.
