Student Organizations
& Resources

With over 200 registered student organizations (RSOs), UMass Amherst covers a lot of ground and most interests. Joining a student organization is the ideal way to make yourself at home, meet like-minded people, get some experience, and simply have fun.

The groups include community service organizations, student government, ethnic and cultural groups, religious and spiritual organizations, fraternity and sororities, student run businesses, media related groups, groups that grow from academic interests, and groups dedicated to athletics and recreation, socializing, arts and entertainment, and politics.

Campus Pulse


Campus Pulse is your gateway to hundreds of campus activities, campus offices, and more than 200 student organizations. Through Campus Pulse, you can connect to like-minded community, explore your interests, discover new things, develop your involvement resume, and have a rich and fulfilling UMass Amherst experience.

Campus Pulse is:

  • Your daily calendar where you can find out about dozens of interesting campus events and activities.

  • Your connection to a wide community that includes Registered Student Organizations (RSOs), The Student Government Association (SGA), The Center for Student Development, The Student Activities & Involvement Center, and Residence Life.

  • A place to join a Registered Student Organization (or two) and meet a community of other students that share your interests.

  • A place to get involved with Student Government - serve on a committee, learn how to run for office, find out what happened at SGA meetings, and stay updated on how your SGA is working for you.

  • A place for student organization leaders to manage their group responsibilities, delegate tasks, develop events, and coordinate all the details of running a successful student group.

  • A place for student organization members to network with each other, discuss their interests, coordinate their activities, and build online community.

Co-curricular Organizations

In addition to the many RSOs that are run by students, there are a number of co-curricular organizations and programs that serve students that are run with assistance from professional staff.
