About the CSD
The Center for Student Development (CSD) helps keep most of UMass Amherst’s student life running smoothly: student organizations, the Student Government Association, student businesses, fraternities and sororities, student success centers and multicultural resources.
Although most of the organizations of the CSD are fueled by students’ energy, the staff provides essential assistance and oversight, helping students successfully run organizations and start new ones. They also help the groups work together and find common ground in their programming and events. Their resources include help with managing organizations, financial record keeping, purchasing and payroll for businesses, budgeting, fundraising and grant seeking. In the process of working with the CSD, students receive a significant real world education and create lifelong connections.
