Cranberry Station Board of Oversight In 1994, legislation was enacted to form within the University of Massachusetts, a Cranberry Station Board of Oversight. The Board's role is to advise and assist the President of UMass in the management of the Station. The Board is charged with maintaining the scientific credibility of the Station and keeping the focus of the Station on its mission to assure the economic viability of the Massachusetts Cranberry Industry. The Board oversees Station budgets and acts as an advocate for the Station and its programs. Board meetings are held four times each year at the Cranberry Station. The Board membership consists of representatives of UMass Amherst, UMass Dartmouth, the Massachusetts Legislature, the Governor, and the Cape Cod Cranberry Growers Association.
