Debbie has been working at the Station since 1988. She is an integral part of the Staff, ensuring that all the mechanics of the office gets done properly. She is our liaison to the University for many personnel issues and handles all travel paperwork. She is the current editor of the Cranberry Station Newsletter and coordinates all of the mailings that are distributed by the Station.

Natalie is originally from Brockton, and is thrilled to back on the Cape, working in agriculture. She spent 3 years as the business manager Shelby school district in Montana, responsible for a $4.5 M budget.

Krystal has been at the Cranberry Station working in the Plant Nutrition lab since 2000. She is involved in all aspects of field data collection, experimental set-up, and sample processing for the Nutrition lab.

Jane has been working in the Plant Pathology lab since 1989. Her primary interests
currently lie in the evaluation of various fungal species for pathogenicity
against dodder, a parasitic weeds of cranberries (and many other agricultural
and horticultural crops). She is involved with conducting field experiments
dealing with fruit rot and supervises summer assistants.

Jim started working at the UMass Cranberry Station in August 2006. He is responsible for maintaining approximately 18 acres of cranberries (State Bog and Rocky Pond) and for managing all of the on-site facilities. He oversees fleet vehicle and farm equipment maintenance and is a weather recorder for NOAA. He supervises several trade workers and provides production information for various local, state, and federal agencies as needed. Jim works closely with the researchers at the Cranberry Station to assure proper management of all projects that are conducted on State Bog.
Prior to joining our staff, Jim worked for 32 years in county and federal law enforcement. He joined the MA Cultivated Blueberrry Growers Association in 2001 and was appointed VP of the Association in 2002. He owns and operates his own blueberry farm. Jim is active in the Southeastern Massachusetts Agricultural Partnership and serves on its coordinating council.

Marty has worked at the station since 1989 and is responsible for many of the
activities of the Entomology Lab. She studies insect behavior and ecology, focusing
on cranberry fruitworm, Sparganothis fruitworm, and cranberry weevil. She is
also involved in research to explore and implement alternatives to insecticides
including low imput practices or reduced-risk chemicals. Marty oversees the
Health and Safety operations for the Cranberry Station and teaches Worker Protection
Workshops.
