 In early 2006, the UMass Amherst School of Nursing received a $50,000 gift to fund the first class of students in the new two-year clinical nurse leader program, which is the first and only such program in Massachusetts. The goal of the program is to prepare nurses to work directly with patients and families to navigate through all aspects of the health care system. The first students began their training in the fall of 2005. |
