The University of Massachusetts Amherst
has provided an ideal location to nurture and grow the academic
field of translation studies. The Translation Center provides
the largest array of translation services of any university
in the world. The Comparative Literature Masters Program
in Translation Studies has also established itself as one
of the top four MA programs in the nation (with Monterey,
Kent State University and Binghamton University).
UMass attracts
the top students internationally, largely because the students
can work at the Center gaining valuable practical experience
and technological expertise in addition to their studies.
Research in translation studies is flourishing, largely
because of the stimulating teaching environment and supportive
faculty
in Comparative Literature (CL), the Department of Languages,
Literatures, and Cultures (LLC), and the College of Humanities
and Fine Arts (HFA).

Translation
Center web site.
